Monday May 21 is the last day for members to submit comments on the ‘What Is A Completion’ toolkit. As you know, our ‘What Is A Completion’ Work Group has been hard at work disambiguating the term ‘Completion’ over the past year. This team has hit a significant milestone in completing the toolkit and is currently seeking member reviewers to provide feedback and respond to a survey. All contributions, feedback, and suggestions are appreciated as this toolkit will be for a broad audience (note, any reviewer must be a PPDM member due to intellectual property concerns). Once we have everyone’s feedback, the Work Group will review and update the toolkit as appropriate prior to finalizing, with an estimated release mid-2018.
Excitement for this piece of work is building and appreciate the hard work of the ‘What Is A Completion’ Work Group and our volunteer member reviewers. Learn how you can become a sponsor of this group now in our Sponsorship Kit. For more information, please contact email@example.com.

The Dallas/Fort Worth Data Management Community convened at XTO Energy on April 26, 2018 and enjoyed a presentation by Steve Cobb with CB Technologies entitled “The Refinery of the Future: A Real-Time Use Case”. His talk described how recent evolutions in the technology industry are allowing the Oil and Gas Industry to alter the way they tackle current business problems. Edge computing, IIoT, Digital Twin, field augmented reality and remote virtual reality have become the foundation for a new wave of Digital Transformation initiatives. They seek to capture the tribal knowledge of experienced professionals as they leave the workforce, allowing companies to work smarter and enable companies to capture and use the vast amounts of data that they possess today for better decision making. Seizing this business inflection point and the opportunities it offers, CBT has teamed with multiple technology partners to integrate the latest information sciences into “The Refinery of the Future” at Texmark Chemical, providing use cases supported by real operational needs. We will discuss five solutions for a chemical plant: Predictive Maintenance, Video Analytics, Worker Safety, Connected Worker, Asset Maintenance & Integrity. Many thanks to Stonebridge Consulting for providing a delicious lunch and XTO Energy for a fabulous venue. Drawing winners, Andrew Belschner of XTO Energy and Brooke Granger with Jetta Operating, each won a free one-year membership to PPDM. Our next luncheon is planned for September 12th at Pioneer Natural Resources.
